Brian and his wife, CNN reporter Chloe Melas, know all too well the difficulty, both emotionally and financially, that can arise when starting a family. That’s why they have been vocal about their journey with IVF and Brian has shared his own struggles with male factor infertility. Now, the process has become even more stressful due to coronavirus. Countless individuals across the country have had to put their fertility treatments on hold due to clinics temporarily closing or because funds that were meant to cover treatments had to be allocated elsewhere.
That’s why Brian wants to turn 2020 for an individual(s) by giving the gift of IVF to those who need financial assistance. Brian is working with the Ronald O. Perelman and Claudia Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine of Weill Cornell Medicine in New York to make this happen, and for a good reason. It’s here that Brian and Chloe went through their IVF treatments resulting in the birth of their two sons.
Brian is also encouraging those who have been personally affected by infertility, or know someone who has, to join in virtually. Using the hashtag #RunForAChance, people across the country can run any distance with Brian that day.
