Linda Applegarth, Ed.D.

Dr. Linda Applegarth is the Director of Psychological Services at the Ronald O. Perelman and Claudia Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine. She is a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychology in the Departments of Psychiatry, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and a Professional Associate of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

Dr. Applegarth is an experienced counseling psychologist, researcher and educator. For many years, her professional and clinical work has focused on the emotional aspects of dealing with infertility, helping hundreds of patients to understand and address the broad range of  challenges associated with infertility, pregnancy loss and parenting after infertility. Dr. Applegarth has also assisted couples with decisions regarding alternative family-building options including egg or sperm donation and adoption.

Dr. Applegarth earned her B.A. with distinction from the University of Kansas and her doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from Boston University. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the American Psychological Association, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (where she served on the Board of Directors) and the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology. In addition, she was the chair of the Board of Directors of RESOLVE (the National Infertility Association) and is past chair of the Mental Health Professional Group of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Applegarth has shared her insights and research with worldwide audiences through articles and chapters for leading medical publications, in presentations before medical and patient audiences, and in media interviews.
